Kia’s Electrified Car Sales Continue to Grow

Kia America reported 57,941 unit sales in May, with the Niro family of Hybrid, PHEV, and EV models registering best ever May sales, up more than 28% from the previous record set in 2021. Furthermore, the all new Sportage HEV sold 2,417 units in its first full month of deliveries in May. Kia sales for electric models are up 132% from the previous May record set.

In addition to sales, the brand made many noteworthy announcements in May, including:

• The 2022 Kia EV6 named Best Electric Vehicle by U.S. News & World Report.
• The 2022 Kia Carnival MPV named “Family Vehicle of the Year” in Hispanic Motor Press rating of the Top Ten Vehicles for Hispanic Car Buyers in 2022.
• The new 2023 Kia Soul is set to come later this summer, with updated design features, new colors, and two technology and convenience-filled option packages.
