Rivian is an American electric vehicle startup based in California. Its production facility is located in Illinois. The company's first models are the R1T electric pickup truck and the R1S electric SUV, which are positioned as high-end offerings with a starting price of around $70,000. Both models boast an impressive EPA-rated range of 314 miles on a single charge, though Rivian has stated that multiple battery options will be available, including a longer range version and a 250-mile option. The R1T, which is comparable in size to the Honda Ridgeline, is both swift and silent. It also rides comfortably and handles with relative ease. The interior is chic and modern, with a sleek and sophisticated design, but some features can only be controlled through the touchscreen interface, such as the air vents, which can be frustrating. Additionally, Rivian has entered into partnerships with Amazon to create electric delivery vehicles and with Ford to share technology and collaborate on future projects.
